Last week I payed a visit to the Van Loon museum and the Hermitage on my day off. Two completely different museums but very interesting to visit when you are in Amsterdam.
The Hermitage Amsterdam displays the collection of one of the most famous and largest museums in the world: the Hermitage in St. Petersburg. The Hermitage currently has an exhibition on Catherine the Great, once Europe’s longest reigning empress. The Van Loon museum is a 17th century canal house on the Keizersgracht with portraits and period rooms.
After visiting the museums, we wandered through Amsterdam. I can never get enough of the little alleys and the houses along the canals.
